Sasha inviting himself on the Express
Before leaving, Sunday slips a note under Sasha’s door. The second Sasha reads it, he runs after him.He catches up just as Sunday is found by Welt, so he stays hidden and follows them throughout 2.7. When he realizes they’re heading for the Astral Express, he runs ahead, sneaks aboard, and hides until the train has already departed. After waiting a while, he finally steps out, showing himself. He knows they wouldn’t kick him off in the middle of nowhere, so he promises he’ll behave and ends up staying as a long-term passenger. After Sunday finally gets his ticket (after it becomes canon), the Express even offers Sasha to become one too, but he politely declines, saying he’s only there for Sunday. He uses this opportunity to travel and see which planet gives him the biggest adrenaline rush, as well as different jewelry and expensive things he could snatch along the way.

His Childhood
Sasha’s childhood was quiet, lonely, and a little rough. His parents worked constantly, their bodies and minds drained from long hours at jobs that barely paid the bills. When they came home, all they had energy for was themselves. They told Sasha he had everything he needed: food, water, a place to sleep and that anything else was a waste of money. Toys, books, even attention was rare.
Sasha, small and curious, grew bored quickly all alone by himself, his parents told him not to go out by himself, he didn’t listen. There weren’t many children in his neighborhood, so he wandered the streets, watching people go about their lives. He would wave politely to elderly neighbors who expressed concern.
“They’re always out working,” he said, “they know I’m here. Everything’s fine.”
People didn’t know what to make of him. He seemed so calm, so used to wandering around.
One day, Sasha wandered farther than usual and found himself in the wealthy district of the city. Huge mansions on either side of the wide streets, and the few people he saw walked with a purposeful elegance that fascinated him.
As he explored, he noticed four men pacing around one mansion. They wore dark clothes and moved cautiously, inspecting the house as if it were a treasure map waiting to be unlocked. Sasha crouched behind a bush, one ear twitching with curiosity. He had seen people before, but never anyone moving like this.
Ten minutes passed, then the men left. Sasha followed at a distance, slipping down streets and around corners until they entered a bar. He knocked on the door politely.
Once the door opened and a man peeked outside and noticed a child standing in front of the door.
Sasha tried to initiate a conversation with him:
“Excuse me…” he said softly, but before he could say anything else.
The door slammed shut in his face. He frowned, but his curiosity outweighed frustration. He walked around the corner and sat down. He waited. Hours passed. The sun set, and the streets darkened, but Sasha stayed in the shadows.
Finally, the men came out of the bar.
Going back to the mansion they have been inspecting before. Sasha trailed one of them as they picked the lock and slipped inside. He followed cautiously, fascinated how big the house was. Jewelry, electronics, and expensive decorations gleamed in the dim light. He had never seen anything like it.
But he was so fascinated by the big room, that he didn’t notice the man he followed until he bumped into him.
The thief spun around, gun raised. Sasha froze. His eyes were wide, his small body trembling. The man’s confusion softened as he saw that it was just a child.
“What… what are you doing here?” the man whispered, lowering the gun slightly.
Sasha couldn’t speak. He looked at the man, then turned and ran.
The thief cursed under his breath but chased after him. “Hey! Wait!”
After a few tense minutes of playing very intense catch, he managed to catch Sasha by the tail and spun him around. “Why are you here? Do you have any idea how dangerous this is?”
Sasha started crying out of fear of getting caught. The thief’s anger melted into hesitation, then concern. He knows damn well Sasha wasn’t supposed to be here, but he also doesn’t have time to comfort him. Do he lifted Sasha over his shoulder.
While getting picked up, a little yelp sound of shock escaped him.
“Come on,” the man muttered, carrying him back to the others.
Once they all meet at their meeting point, they all looked dumbfounded about their partner in crime carrying a child over his shoulder.
“Why do you have a kid?” one of them asked flabbergasted.
“I’ll explain later,” the man whispered.
Once they’ve returned to the bar, and disappeared into the back of the bar, they set Sasha on the couch,
Eyes in the floor, not daring to look up; explaining how he was bored and how that’s the only reason why he followed them in the first place.
The thief sighed and rummaged through the loot. He picked up a small golden decoration and handed it to Sasha.
“You can have this,” he said. “But you have to promise you won’t tell anyone about today.”
Sasha hesitated for a while, but decided to take it from the his hand.
Sasha hugged it tight, a small smile breaking through his fear, nodding.
They wouldn’t let a small child go home in the middle of the night, so they decided to give Sasha a blanket and pillow to sleep over at the bar. Sasha clutched the little golden thing in his hands, slowly exhaustion took over, falling asleep.
The next day, Sasha returned. And the day after that, and so on. He knocked on the bar door, searching for them, hoping they would let him stay again.
“Are they here?” he asked the bartender, peering inside the bar. “Can I see them?”
At first, the men were annoyed. Then amused. Then they noticed how thin, and small, Sasha looked. They began allowing him to stick around during the day. They let him sit in the back room, follow them on small errands, and watch quietly while they worked.
Sasha’s curiosity became eagerness. He wanted to know everything, how they moved silently, how they observed people, how they made careful decisions in their dangerous line of work.
One of the thieves, seeing his sharp eyes and quick mind, began teaching him small lessons. Another showed him hiding spots. A third explained how to read situations and people.
“You’re fast,” one of them said one day. “Always pay attention to your surroundings, and maybe you won’t get caught.”
Sasha grinned. Nodding eagerly.
And so, day by day, the little fox grew into something more than a street wanderer, who tried to fight boredom by watching people. The thieves, rough and morally gray as they were, became his guardians, his teachers, his family. They watched over him, cared for him, and guided him.
Sasha learned their ways, picked up their skills, and slowly became one of them, a little thief in the making. But more importantly, he finally had people who truly cared about him.
How they met
Around the age of 15
Sasha was wandering around and got curious about a large fenced off area.
Behind it, he spotted an open window
Feeling bored and nosy, he climbed the fence to peek inside, on the windowsill with head already in the house, he looked to his right and saw Sunday standing right next to the open window, staring directly at him the moment he looked in in pure disbelief.
Sasha got so spooked that he jumped back on instinct, and fell off the windowsill onto the ground.
His whole body hurt, didn't stand up just waiting for the worst to come
A few minutes later, Sunday came outside to check on him.
Sunday did not let Sasha leave until he checked his head for injuries
Once he confirmed Sasha was okay, he quietly promised not to report or expose him.
and that was not the last visit from Sasha
More about them
Sunday really wants Sasha to leave the life of a thief behind and start over new.For Sasha, being a thief isn’t just a habit or a bad choice, it’s how he grew up.
It’s how he learned to rely only on himself.
It’s proof that he doesn’t need permission, protection, or anyone else to exist.
Leaving all that behind means for Sasha:
Admitting that the people who raised him failed him.
Becoming dependent, and loosing his carefree self.
To Sasha, Sunday asking him to stop being a thief doesn’t sound like concern. It sounds like:
“Change who you are to be loved.”
(Obviously Sunday doesn’t mean it that way)
Sasha becomes extremely defensive, whenever this topic comes up.Sunday doesn’t see theft as freedom, he sees it as unnecessary risk.
He’s watched Sasha come home hurt, bleeding, shaking.
He knows how close Sasha gets himself into situations that could end him.
And the more Sunday pushes for Sasha safety,
the more Sasha feels cornered,
As if Sunday wouldn’t love him till he fits in his mind.

Every time Sunday catches Sasha stealing something, he makes Sasha go back, give the stolen things back, and apologize to the person. (Sasha gets forced to)
Every time Sasha gets pissed at Sunday he takes one of Sunday Earrings Sneakily and runs off, so Sasha can still hold onto Sunday, and for Sunday knowing that he comes back to return his earring.
They decided to keep their relationship secret from Gopher Wood because they’re afraid that he would see Sasha as a distraction for Sunday, who could implant ideas that go against his own.
Sasha’s Tail plucking
Sasha used to pull out his fur whenever he was bored or stressed.
Once Sunday caught him doing it, he immediately stopped him and told him to braid his hair instead
Now wheneyer Sashagets
anxious or bored, he just braids and unbraids that one piece of hair we all know and love
And whenever Sunday caught his hand wandering back to his tail, he d
immediately give his fingers a light slap
Sasha would instantly switch back to braiding his hair happening until Sasha eventually stopped plucking out his fur altogether.
Sunday also took over the tail grooming till the pulling completely stopped

Sasha wandering around in someone's house, looking for shiny things and checking out whatever the owner has, he's nosy.
He went to the kitchen, opens the fridge and sees a pudding sitting there.
Immediately Sasha thinks of Sunday
The only thing he took that night was the pudding.
Then he goes to Sunday's office, knowing his man is overworking himself once again. Sunday isn't even looking up because he knows it's him until Sasha takes his papers away which were laying on his table, replacing it with the pudding, placing it right in front of him, shoving a spoon into Sundays hand, forcing Sunday to take a 5 minutes break
